Empowered Mama 1:1 Preparing to Breastfeed Workshop (Home Visit):

As an Infant Feeding Coach/Breastfeeding Counsellor, I provide comprehensive support for antenatal feeding education in the comfort of your home. This includes guidance on topics such as positioning, attachment, effective milk transfer, bottle feeding, hand expressing, and addressing common feeding issues. It's important to note that I am not a Lactation Consultant or medical professional. Should your questions exceed my expertise, I will refer you to the appropriate resources or professionals.

It's crucial to discuss any pregnancy concerns with your Midwife, particularly regarding advice provided during the antenatal feeding class. Advice given during the class is tailored for low-risk, full-term pregnancies. If your pregnancy is categorised as high-risk, it's advisable to consult your Midwife before implementing any advice, as they are familiar with your medical history and pregnancy details.

In the event of premature birth or the presence of medical conditions in your newborn, some advice provided during the class may no longer be applicable. In such cases, seeking support from a Midwife or lactation specialist is recommended to address these changes.

If complications arise or risks increase during your pregnancy after the class, it's essential to consult your Midwife for updated guidance. I cannot be held liable for advice rendered obsolete due to post-class pregnancy developments.

While I offer education and support for common feeding challenges, I do not address medical issues. I will always refer you to specialised help when needed and will not offer advice beyond my scope of practice. Failure to disclose relevant medical conditions in the introduction form absolves me of liability for subsequent medical issues.

I will always advise you to consult with your Midwife, GP, Lactation Consultant, or other specialists when necessary. Ignoring this advice absolves me of responsibility for resulting medical issues or complications.

Regarding appointment logistics, you will have selected your chosen date & time upon booking.

Cancellations made within 72 hours of the agreed appointment or your non-attendance do not warrant rescheduling of the session. If you would like to book a new session, you will need to purchase a new one.

Refunds for all services will only be available within 24 hours of purchase, minus a small booking fee. After this no refunds are accepted. Rescheduling, or transferring your paid place to someone else is allowed if requested more than 72 hours before the original appointment.

In the event of my cancellation within 24 hours, you will have the option to reschedule or receive a full refund. If rescheduling occurs more than 24 hours before the appointment, you may choose between rescheduling or exchanging the session for a gift voucher. Refunds will not be issued.

Upon booking, you will be asked to complete an intake form. This form must be completed in full and meet satisfaction; failure to do so may necessitate rescheduling. The appointment can be rescheduled twice. If the form is still incomplete after the second rescheduled appointment, the appointment may be cancelled without refund.

Full payment must be made at the time of booking via the payment link included in the booking email. Failure to do so will mean that your session cannot go ahead.

For safety reasons, if I feel unsafe or uncomfortable in your home environment, I reserve the right to refuse services without refund.

I will provide a small window during which I expect to arrive at your location to allow for traffic and any unforeseen delays. If I am late to the appointment, I will extend the session to ensure you receive the full allotted time. Alternatively, I can revisit you at a later date for the number of minutes that I was late. If you would prefer that the rest of the session be via video call instead of a revisit, then I am happy to accommodate this.

Housekeeping notes:

Please have pen and paper for note-taking and ensure a quiet environment. Partners are welcome to join you for the class. I will require access to your internet if this is possible.

Children and animals are welcome but should not disrupt the session. – if they do so and I am unable to finish the entire session within the allotted time, then I reserve the right not to stay late to finish the session.

1:1 Infant Feeding Consultation (Home Visit):

As an Infant Feeding Coach/Breastfeeding Counsellor, I provide comprehensive support for infant feeding in the comfort of your home.

It is important to speak with your Midwife if you have concerns about your baby or the guidance provided during your consultation.

For babies born prematurely or with medical conditions, additional specialised support from a Lactation Consultant, may be necessary. However, I am here to ensure that the foundational aspects of feeding are in place before you seek further assistance.

If any complications arise or risks increase after our session, advice may now differ from what was discussed during the consultation. Please ensure you speak with your Midwife, GP, Health Visitor or a Lactation Consultant to ensure advice is adjusted in relation to the new risks/complications. I am not liable for any advice given that no longer applies due to changes that take place after the session.

Housekeeping notes:

Please try to ensure that your baby is likely to be due a feed during my visit. If they require feeding shortly before my arrival, please only offer a part feed so that they are likely to want to feed again during your consultation.

If you have other children or animals, they are welcome to be around, but should not disrupt the session. Your consultation will last between 60-90 minutes, so it would be best to be able to utilise this entire time for supporting you with your feeding challenges without too much interruption.
